1. The Local-First Promise
FlowwState is built on a radical respect for your intellectual privacy. By design, I do not have access to your thoughts.
Your notes, chat history, and context data are stored exclusively on your local device. FlowwState does not transmit, mirror, or store your content as it operates without central servers.
2. Information Collected
To operate and improve FlowwState, I collect minimal data in the following categories:
2.1 Account & Authentication
- Identifiers provided by your chosen auth method (e.g., email via GitHub/Google).
- Basic account metadata (creation date, last login).
2.2 Technical Telemetry
- Application version and OS type.
- Performance metrics (load times, memory usage) to ensure stability.
- Anonymized crash reports (redacted to ensure no user content or API keys are included).
3. What I Never See
I believe in "Knowledge Sovereignty." The following never leave your machine:
- Content: The text of your notes, code, or proofs.
- Conversations: Your prompts and the AI's responses.
- Credentials: Your API keys (Groq, OpenAI, etc.) are stored only in your local secure keychain.
- Context: Information retrieved from your open windows or browser.
4. Data Flow (BYO API)
When you use AI features, information flows directly between your machine and your chosen provider:
- 1. You initiate an action (e.g., "summarize this").
- 2. FlowwState sends the encrypted request directly to the API provider (e.g., Groq) using the key you provided.
- 3. The response is returned directly to your machine.
FlowwState operates without any central servers. Your data is governed by the privacy policy of the specific API provider you chose. To help you get started, FlowwState provides a limited daily free usage allocation to try out the application's features.
5. Security
I implement local-level security measures to protect your data, but the ultimate security of your knowledge depends on your machine's physical and digital security. I recommend encrypted disk drives and strong OS-level authentication.
6. Your Rights
Since your content is local, you have the ultimate "Right to Erasure" — simply deleting the application or your local data folder removes your information forever. For account-level data held by me, contact arnavjaiswal149@gmail.com.
